Mayakoba by Night

Our evenings were pretty typical. Every single night they had a movie outside on the lawn for the kids. The movie started promptly at 7:00 but you could drop them off a little early. They had inflatable beds set up with pillows so they were spoiled watching movies outside under the stars! And to top it off, they even had a free kids buffet & a candy bar. Of course. So we would make them a plate, leave them & head to dinner every night by ourselves. Literally it was free babysitting!

The girls met so many friends & had so much fun, they literally couldn't wait to leave us! One night we got invited to the manager's cocktail reception in the garden. It was beautiful & we had a great time getting to meet other couples:

Not only was the garden beautiful, but this is actually where they pull all of their fresh herbs & vegetables for their restaurants. Of course, they had a candy bar here also. Why am I not surprised?!

On Bryan's birthday, they snuck in & decorated our room to surprise him:

The girls loved the balloons!

They were all about the silly faces this trip!

That night they had a beach barbecue where they had a buffet down on the beach with live music. It was a perfect evening:

Of course they still had movie night, they just moved the set up to the beach:

I'm telling you, these girls were spoiled. Absolutely spoiled.

When the movie was over, they came over to join us. They had bonfires on the beach, they ran around playing with their friends & they danced to the music:

It was a really fun night - the perfect way to end Bryan's birthday!

One evening, we had a surprise when we came home to get ready for the evening:

Some kind of chocolate creation that was supposed to represent nature. It was heavenly. And on a side note, see that beautiful hibiscus? Those are my favorite flowers. I always spend way too much buying a hibiscus plant to put outside by the pool every summer & it only lasts a few months since it is too cold here. Anyway, they have hibiscus gardens all over the property & every day we got fresh hibiscus in our room. At least 3 or 4 in the bathroom, on our beds - they were beautiful!

Another side note, most of our evenings were fun because we would all shower outside & then Sadie thought it was so fun to wear her robe just like me:

We always had turn down service every night but believe me how shocked I was when we came home from dinner & I realized that we all had monogrammed pillows:

What a surprise! Our last night there, they even had them cleaned, pressed & wrapped up for us to take them home:

The only night we ventured out, we went to dinner at another resort on the property called Banyan Tree. It was a beautiful hotel:

We had dinner at a Thai restaurant called:

We ate outside on the lagoon where it was nice & muggy but had great food:

It was the perfect way to end our trip. Only one family night out to dinner but lots of date nights while the girls had their own fun at movie night. I'm not sure vacations will ever be the same after this experience!
