Atlantis

The next morning, we woke up in Nassau, Bahamas. I believe we docked around 7:00 that morning & we were there until 4:45. Before we went, we booked an excursion to Atlantis, which was one of the few things we paid for. It wasn't cheap, but totally worth it! Bryan & I have been before twice, but this was everyone else's first time. Technically, we took Sadie when she was 6 months old, but obviously she didn't remember it!

As soon as we got there, we went straight to the kids pool & water park. Since we got there so early, most of their resort guests weren't up yet so we got awesome seats & umbrellas all together:

The kids spent the entire day swimming & playing here & they loved it:

The area was mostly shallow & there were life guards in several places, so we got to sit back & kind of enjoy the day while they played:

They had a private beach there also but we decided to keep it easy & stay at the pool all day since we did the beach the day before. The adults did take turns sneaking off & riding all of the big slides! We had so much fun & the only person left out was Sadie :( She didn't understand while she couldn't come with us. Our little thrill seeker wanted to try them all! Our favorite was the serpent slide that shoots you through the shark tank:

The kids had fun checking out the aquarium & seeing the sharks while they waited for us. Don't know if you can really tell, but that is Tammy & I in the background floating through:

We also had fun watching Bryan & Jeremy compete against each other on the Challenger slide:

Technically Jeremy won if you go by the seconds on the clock, but it looked like Bryan one because he finished first. Let's just say the kids had a fun time debating that one!

While we were over at the big slides with the kids, we finally found another small one that a few of the older kids got to do:

Poor Sophie, she started off the day great:

but spent most of it like this:

While I was off riding slides with the girls, she fell asleep in Bryan's arms. I still don't know if she didn't feel good or was exhausted from the trip, but she slept for a couple of hours. This is very unlike her! We even got free meal coupons to get lunch at the resort & she slept through lunch! Gavin eventually tired out & took a small nap so Julianne stayed with them while Bryan & I rode the rapid river with Sadie & the Edwards family. We had a blast while they slept:

Before we left, Bryan treated everyone to fruity drinks - sno cones for the kids & daiquiris & pina coladas for the adults:

When we got back on board, we went to the top deck so the kids could experience us sailing away. We were supposed to have a big sailing party the first night but since we didn't leave until the next day, they never had it. They thought it was fun waving to everyone else & dancing while the music played:

There were 5 boats docked in Nassau that day so it was pretty seeing them all lined up while we sailed out to sea. That & Atlantis - I'm always amazed at how large of a resort it is!

It was another fun day & totally worth the money to spend the day at Atlantis. It made us realize that we should take the girls back there sometime for a family vacation!
