We had another fun weekend with a couple of special things on our calendar. One will involve a special post all on it's own! Be on the lookout for that tomorrow :)
Friday was low key. I have a really busy schedule the next 2 weeks so the girls helped me run errands instead of having a play date like we normally do. But we met friends for dinner that night & it was great getting to catch up with them! Their kids are older & we go to different churches now so we don't get to see them as often. Somehow Sadie talked them into going to get ice cream with us afterwards:
Thanks for meeting us Brad & Catherine! My girls had a blast with yours :)
Saturday morning we got up early because Sadie & I ran our first race together. So much fun!! Check back tomorrow for pictures.
After that, we had a birthday party. We went to Ellie's house. That is Sadie's best friend from Sonshine. It was actually her sister's 1st birthday:
Somehow I got a picture of the birthday cake but not the birthday girl?! I caught Sophie being sneaky & had to document that. They had a bowl of Hershey kisses in the dining room & somehow Sophie was smart enough to realize that she could get the step stool from the bathroom & bring it to the dining room so she could reach the candy :( There was silver trash everywhere from all the kisses she had eaten:
But she looks so innocent, right?!
And this is what happened when I said it was time to go:
So sweet.
Saturday was also election day so Bryan stopped by the polls while we were at the party. As I've said before, Bryan was actually on the ballot this time but he was unopposed. THANK GOODNESS!! But we still hit our network hard in hopes of increasing voter turn out:
We went to an election party that night without the girls but it was one of the most depressing parties I have ever been to. Let's just say that the votes did not turn out in our favor for all of the races.
Sunday was Mother's Day & these 3 spoiled me. When I woke up, they gave me home made cards. After church, we had dinner reservations at Silver Fox Steakhouse, which was delicious! We have gone there 3 years in a row so it's sort of our new tradition. Sadie thought it was really fancy :) After the 3 of them laid down for naps, I snuck off to the salon by our house because Bryan has scheduled me a pedicure. It was a perfect day. Thank you girls & Bryan for spoiling me!
