Bryan has officially served on the school board for Frisco for 3 years now & he is currently the Vice President but this May, he is up for re-election. Thank goodness no one decided to run against him so is unopposed! There is one open position & 3 candidates are vying for it. Even though he doesn't have an opponent, he has still attended several of the meet & greets and forums around town leading up to the election. These are the types of meetings he usually attends by himself during the week while I stay home with the girls but last night I had the opportunity to stop by one. My friend invited me to bunco & I already knew he would be gone, so I got a babysitter. But then it dawned on me, I have a babysitter available all night but bunco doesn't start until 7:00 & the forum starts at 6:00 - so I actually got to attend something & watch him in action:
Last night's event was hosted by the Frisco Chamber of Commerce. The 3 people you see to the left of Bryan are the candidates running for the open seat. The guy next to Bryan is up for re-election also. Mostly the forum was questions for the new candidates, but they gave Bryan & Chad the option to speak whenever they wanted to:
I have to admit, I was kind of impressed watching him in action! I always hear about everything from him or someone else, but it's not very often I actually see him presenting or at a meeting:
Bryan, we are so proud of the time & energy you commit to our city & our schools. Thank you for being such a wonderful example & leader not only to our girls, but to everyone else in our community!
PS: I am so glad you do not have an opponent - it definitely makes election season much easier :)
