Easter Eggstravaganza 2016

I feel like Easter is so early this year & we went straight from St. Patrick's Day to Easter with hardly any time in between. We have been celebrating for the past week so I will probably do an Easter blog every day just to catch up.
It all started when we got home from Vegas, 2 weekends ago. The City of Frisco plans their annual Easter Eggstravaganza a few weeks early to allow an extra weekend in case of bad weather. This year it was March 12. Doesn't that just sound early for Easter?! When we got home from Vegas late Friday night, we had no plans so after the girls slept in, we surprised them. Last year Sophie was barely toddling around so she really didn't participate in any egg hunts so this felt like her first one:

This particular egg hunt is huge - 80,000 eggs! They divide the kids by age group & have all of the hunts go at the same time on a different soccer field. Of course Sophie was on the field with babies up to 2 years old & Sadie was on the field with 3 & 4 year olds. I went with Sophie (I was a little adamant since it was her first time!) while Bryan went with Sadie:

Sophie was a little slow when it was time to go because she didn't quite understand what was going on but she quickly figured it out:

Even after she got the hang of it, she was still kind of slow! It was perfect for her age - lots of room to roam with other slow babies as well :) And instead of candy, they had boxes of cheerios, goldfish, animal crackers, etc. It was perfect!

Sadie on the other hand was quite the opposite. She is an experienced egg hunter & knew exactly what to do. Her & Bryan even came up with a game plan before hand! She was quick & she got a lot:

They also had the Easter Bunny, face painting, games, bounce houses & all kinds of fun activities! We stayed for a few things but it was definitely crowded. The girls had fun though & enjoyed the beginning of the Easter festivities. They really enjoyed going home & digging through their Easter eggs after wards!
