Christmas Morning 2015

Since we celebrated Christmas with Bryan's family this year & they all live locally, we got to come home for Christmas Eve/Christmas morning. It was so nice & relaxing! Since we stayed up late at Nanny's the night before, the girls slept in. In fact, Bryan & I were up, I had already made a big breakfast & Santa had came - we had to wake up the girls around 9:00 because we were getting anxious! Santa had left a pretty good stash behind:

Technically the tent was from mommy & daddy. We bought that as a combo gift for their birthdays because we got Sadie a Minnie Mouse tent when she turned 2 & it has been well worth the money. They played with it so much that it tore & we had to throw it away, so we thought it would be fun to give Sophie a tent for her 2nd birthday. But she was sick & we celebrated late & I just totally forgot. But they got it for Christmas & was still excited:

The girls loved their stocking - Santa always impresses them even with the most basic stuff like new toothpaste & toothbrush:

Sophie loved it so much that she walked around all morning hoarding her stuff - she was afraid someone would take it away from her!

Our video is pretty funny because as soon as the girls came downstairs, Sophie ran to the baby stuff & picked up her baby all excited like that was her gift. Santa knows Sophie well because she loves baby dolls so he surprised her with her own cradle & high chair so she wouldn't have to fight over Sadie's. I think he put her dolls in for decoration but for some reason she thought the dolls were new. Eventually she figured out that the furniture was new & that she could play with it so she practiced feeding her baby:

Sadie got her first tablet:

To say she was excited is an understatement. Bryan & I do not have I-pads, we just have our laptops that we work on. We aren't very "techy" or spend a lot of money on gadgets, except for our I-Phones. I know most kids her age already have their own electronic devices or use their parents, but we have been pretty strict about her staying off of them. But since she turned 4, we figured it was a good time to introduce her. She got the Leap Frog Epic that came fully loaded with apps, movies, games, books & it even has a camera, etc. It is based for kids ages 4-9 & we have the ability to unlock different phases as she gets older. It is amazing. I personally think this is all a child needs - they don't need an expensive I-Pad that gives them access to things they don't need. And she doesn't know the difference. The only problem - she is addicted! We have let her spend too much time on it this Christmas holiday but it has a built in timer that we will be utilizing next week once we get back on our regular schedule :)

Thank goodness Sophie got her own laptop for her birthday so now they both have their own device :)

After Santa, we opened the rest of our gifts from our family. The girls bought gifts for each other:

Sophie made a gift at school & her teachers had it wrapped & ready for us to open on Christmas morning:

And I am proud to say that Sadie actually took that picture! The girls had gifts for us:

And of course we had a few small combo gifts for the girls:

Such a fun & relaxing morning with just our family. I love our little family of four!
