Since we were home for the holidays we decided to take the girls somewhere fun for Christmas Eve. I took Sadie to the Perot museum when she was younger, but I was pregnant with Sophie so it had been a while & Bryan had never been there. We were hoping it wouldn't be that crowded since it was an actual holiday & we were right - it was the perfect time to go! I have a feeling it is probably crowded every other day since the kids are out for Christmas break.
As soon as we got there, we went straight to:
We knew this is where the girls would have the most fun, so we probably spent the first hour here. Luckily it is small enough they both got to run around & do their own thing & since there were 2 adults, we could take turns watching one of the girls. So much easier since I'm usually by myself!
Next we walked over to the sports museum so Dad could check it out since he hadn't been there. Sadie got to kick a soccer ball & Bryan threw a football while we watched it in slow motion on the computer. Sadie also got to pick who she wanted to race against & she chose a gymnast. She might have got a head start:
We also spent some time walking through the dinosaurs, outer space & bird exhibits:
We only stayed until lunch time & then we had to go. We didn't even come close to going through the whole museum, but we really wanted the girls to have good naps since it would be a late night.
When they woke up, we got ready to go to Nanny's house. She hosts Christmas Eve for Bryan's family every year. By the time we ate dinner, visited, opened gifts & had a gift exchange it was already 11:30 before the girls got to bed. Thank goodness we fed the reindeer before we went:
I was afraid we would get home late & forget. I asked someone to take a family picture of us as soon as we got to Nanny's:
I was hoping for one decent picture before the girls took their bows off, shoes off & had food on their clothes. You know how that goes! Thank goodness I got the family pic but I honestly forgot to take many more pictures the rest of the night. There were so many of us there that we were visiting & having fun & we didn't even have to worry about the girls because they older kids were taking care of them. Somehow I managed to get 2 pictures the entire evening:
It was a great evening & even more fun since we were able to celebrate with family & go home afterwards. The girls were really excited to be home for Santa the next morning!
