Our neighbors have an annual block party before Halloween every year & we have been going since before we had kids. Thankfully both of the girls took good naps so they were ready to go when they woke up! Sophie dressed in Sadie's old costume, which was a pink giraffe. She looked too cute! And it's no surprise that Sadie wore her new Elsa dress she got for Disney. She is still Elsa obsessed:
When we got to the party, the pizza hadn't been delivered yet so the kids played & we tried to take pictures before they ate:
Presley & Hadley are both older than Sadie, but since they are our closest neighbors, we play with them often & Sadie idolizes them :)
Sophie was intrigued with Chelsi:
I'm surprised she wasn't scared but I think she had a lot of practice at Disney!
After we ate pizza & loaded up on cookies/cupcakes/more Halloween junk food, we took the obligatory group photo:
It doesn't look like we have as many kids as last year, but I think the wet & cold weather diminished the Halloween crowd this year. Finally, we took off to trick or treat. Actually, Sadie took off. She decided that she was too big to trick or treat with mom & dad because she wanted to go with the big girls. So off she ran with several other girls & Bryan & one other dad followed behind. They walked slowly so the girls kind of thought they were by themselves :)
We put Sophie in the car so he could keep up with both of them while I passed out candy at the house:
We did do a few houses with just Sophie & she loved it! This was her first year to really trick or treat since she wasn't walking yet last year but she really figured it out:
We even ran into her friend KJ from school:
Sophie & Bentley tried to keep up with the big girls & we caught them at one house when Mikey was passing out candy to everyone:
I didn't really get any pictures of Sadie trick or treating since she was off with the big girls, but I finally got a group picture of the girls when they came back around to our houses:
She finally got tired of running around & asked if she could pass out candy with me, which ultimately meant she sat there & ate a bunch of candy while I passed it out:
Bryan took Sophie in around 8:30 & put her to bed so he could stay in & watch the UT game while Sadie & stayed out for another hour or so. Around 9:00 we finished passing out candy & we went back to the block party because they hired a dj. We danced a while, ate some more & then headed home. All in all, it was a fun night. Our streets were less busy this year because I could tell by the stash of candy we had left at our house. Either that, or we collected so much all month (from Disney, parties, trunk or treat) that I didn't give enough away. Either way, looks like we will be eating candy for a while:
