Life Lately

I was a little better about taking pictures this week besides our every day routines. Mostly our every day routines consist of me being a chauffeur:

This is what my car looks like on a daily basis now. 3 lawn chairs, an umbrella stroller & a couple of soccer balls. With practice once a week & a game once a week, it's not really worth taking it in & out all the time. I am officially a soccer mom. And 2 other days of the week I am hauling this around:

Backpacks, lunchboxes & a nap mat. I hate carrying the nap mat. My kids don't really sleep up there anyway!

Speaking of school, I love her teacher this year. She surprises me every week with pictures of Sadie in class & I love it:

Jamie texted me while she was sitting in the carpool lane (I unfortunately do not get to use the carpool lane because Sophie is too young.....) to tell me that Krispy Kreme was giving away free donuts & coffee. I don't drink coffee but the girls & I like donuts, so we met them after school for a surprise treat:

My poor children. Sadie really wanted one the cute Halloween donuts, but the whole reason we were there was to get the free one!

On Thursday after school, we had an extra special surprise: Sadie's first official play date! We have play dates all the time, but we usually have someone over or we go to someone's house & usually the moms stick around. This time we invited Tatum over by herself! Jamie dropped her off after school & she stayed for a couple of hours:

The girls were so excited! I let them play for the first hour & they wanted to play upstairs in Sadie's room by themselves :) Yes, I was that mom that kept the rest of the house quiet so I could hear everything they were doing in there! Luckily it was during nap time so Sophie was sleeping.

After playing, I let them choose a movie & a snack for the media room:

Sadie got her feelings hurt because she wanted to watch Frozen, but Tatum wanted to watch Tangled & I tried to explain to her that when we have guests over, we let them choose. What a good lesson to learn at this age! They got all comfortable & spent the rest of the afternoon watching the movie & playing upstairs. Sadie was pretty sad when I told her it was time to take Tatum home, but she has already asked when she can have someone over again. Cannot believe I have a child old enough to have play dates by herself!

And that was our week. Can't wait for another busy weekend full of soccer, college football & birthday parties. At least October finally brought some cooler weather!
