Today may be the first day of October, but we technically decorated for Halloween last week :) I just couldn't help it because I was excited! The girls were napping one afternoon so I decided to decorate while they were sleeping & Sadie was ecstatic when she woke up. She clearly understands the holiday this year & is really looking forward to it! I know I have posted pictures of our Halloween decorations before, but I couldn't help but take a few pictures again this year. I'll start with the foyer when you walk in:
This has become Sadie's favorite word of the season: spooky! I also decorated the dining table with lots of glittery, sparkling pumpkins, but I didn't take any pictures of that. When you walk in the living room, we have our countdown to Halloween calendar:
We are going to officially start the calendar tonight. They don't know it yet, but tonight's surprise is going to be Halloween pajamas since it's October 1!
I also have a few things in the kitchen:
I just love their treat bags! My mom originally found those at Chasing Fireflies & they are still my favorite. So girlie :) And I do have one new addition this year:
Can you tell that the ghosts are the girls' footprints?! We had some pottery painted & stamped for Christmas presents last year & while I was working on those, she was making Halloween & Thanksgiving gifts for everyone else. So I splurged last fall when Sophie wasn't even 1 yet & had a plate made for myself. I didn't get it until after Halloween, so it's been packed up all this time. I love it so much & think I may have to have a few more seasonal plates made throughout their childhood :)
Did you notice the older pumpkin basket that was filled with candy? That was my treat basket from when I was a little girl. We always fill it with candy & leave it out for the whole month until Halloween night. It's the only time of year when we do this. Sadie was so excited to go shopping with me the other day to help stock up on candy & pick some pumpkins:
And that ladies & gentlemen is why I go to the gym every morning!
We also decorated the outside. In fact, I kind of have a hodge podge of Halloween & Longhorn stuff going on outside. Of course I have our Halloween wreath:
that goes along with 2 iron pumpkins sitting outside. But we also have our big UT flag, our small garden UT flag & our new Longhorn chevron pumpkin:
Isn't it adorable?! My mom got us that last year & I love it! I'm telling you, I didn't take pictures of everything, we definitely are rocking the decorations outside. Ours are just friendlier than some of our neighbors who are sporting the graveyards.
We even decorated the back this year. We put a few pumpkins in the front & in the back:
I also have a small garden flag & UT pumpkin by the pool:
I love seeing the pops of orange throughout the house for Halloween & the Texas Longhorns. But I also love our girlie Halloween décor with purple & lime green. Maybe one of these days we will cross over to the dark side with ghosts & witches, but for now, I am happy with our seasonal décor.
