I know most kids went back to school today, but our family is still in summer mode since the girls don't start until after Labor Day. We literally spent most of the weekend in the pool & it felt great. Trying to soak up the sun before fall :)
Friday night, we invited the Wattenburger family over:
I think Sophie was running around somewhere (probably by the water table) while sweet Emmy slept inside. She couldn't hang with the big girls yet :) Speaking of big girls, look how cute they are jumping off the grotto:
Can't tell you how happy I am that we had that built, because it is by far everyone's favorite part of the pool.
The next day, Bryan's parent's came over. We let Sadie skip her afternoon nap while Sophie slept the entire afternoon so she got a little extra attention from her grandparents:
When Sophie finally woke up, they spent some time playing in the back yard:
We experimented with dinner & grilled our first pizzas. They both looked perfect when we took them off the grill, but only one of them actually tasted that way. One of them was literally perfect & the other got burned underneath, so the crust wasn't that great. We cooked one on foil & one on a pizza pan made for the grill. In case you are wondering, the one on the pizza pan was the triumph. We are thinking the other pizza needed some more buffer from the flames & that's why it looked great but burned underneath. I meant to take pictures of them on the grill since it was our first time, but I forgot. Either way, every slice got ate:
We just scraped the burnt part off. But next time I think we will have better success. Sorry Robert & Sherry - we usually don't experiment with family/friends but you were our guinea pigs this time!
