Life Lately

This week we finally got back to normal after they spent a week at their grandparent's house, our trip to Great Wolf Lodge & a crazy weekend of birthday parties. I felt like I didn't have much planned this week & I tried to keep it fairly relaxed since summer is coming to an end, but apparently I took a lot of pictures so it looks like we did more than I thought!

Bryan's co-worker/friend from NY flew in on Sunday. They had a big meeting on Tuesday, so he stayed at our house for a couple of days while they worked. The girls loved having him here & Sadie really liked swimming with him:

He surprised us with cake balls one day as a thank you gift for opening our home:

I told him he is welcome any time but next time he better bring his son - he is Sophie's age & they would have a blast playing together!

On Monday, Sophie had her quarterly checkup with her GI doctor:

She is still maintaining a normal diet with whole milk & she is super healthy, but she had started vomiting occasionally small amounts so we adjusted her medicine. Sadie gets kind of jealous at the doctor when Sophie gets all of the attention:

On Tuesday, Sadie went to camp. Only one more week & then is camp is over for the summer :( I know she will miss it!

Wednesday, we met our friends Eva, Harlow & Emmy for bowling:

We are trying to take advantage of the free bowling before it ends this summer! I hadn't taken the girls in a while, but apparently Sophie figured it out last week with Mimi & Doc, because she was really into it this time! Of course she had a great helper:

On Thursday we didn't have any plans, but I took the girls out to run a few errands. One of them included a stop to Bath & Body Works. I guess I haven't really taken Sadie there (maybe when she was a baby & she was easier to shop with?!) but she thought this place was heaven! She walked through the entire store smelling every lotion in there. She said she wanted some when she got older like mommy :) She was even more excited when I let her pick out a few things for their back to school teacher gifts:

On the way home I surprised them & stopped at our neighborhood park. We haven't been to the park much all summer because it is so hot, but we actually had a cool front blow in & it was refreshing:

Guess who taught Sophie this:

She doesn't know how to slide down like normal anymore!

Finally, we ended our week with a pool party. We invited some of Sophie's friends over, Camp & Austen. The cool front really cooled off our pool. Earlier this week, the water was 90 & today it was only 80 & it took a while for all of us to warm up to it:

You know I can never get a picture of all of the kids together unless they are eating lunch. Sadie looks so big now that I am seeing this picture! She may have been a little diva this morning because I think she got jealous of all the attention the little ones were getting.

Hopefully the water will warm up again so we can continue swimming for the end of summer. Our big plans this weekend revolve around it :)
