Party Foul

We invited our friends over for dinner on Friday night & it was extra special because the dads were with us. Jamie & I get together often with the kids, but usually the dads are working, so the kids were excited to have them around. So were the moms, so we could have a break :)

 

 

I thought I wanted a picture of the two of us since I am usually the one taking all of the pictures of everyone else, but now that I am looking at it, I'm thinking we probably should have done it when I looked a little better. She had just came over & looked party perfect, I on the other hand had been in the pool all day.

 

We grilled hot dogs & hamburgers for the kids & we had margaritas for the parents:

 

 

And I thought I would surprise the kids with s'mores, but it was a bit of a disaster. Note to self - only make s'mores in the fall, spring & winter months. I literally set the chocolate on the counter top & within minutes it was completely melted. I mean we literally had to get a knife & scrape the chocolate on to the graham cracker. But the kids had fun roasting marshmallows:

 

 

The kids did spend some time playing on the swingset:

 

 

But most of our time was spent in the pool. Poor Hayden got tubes last week so she couldn't get her ears wet so Sophie had to float by herself:

 

 

While the big kids took turns jumping off the grotto:

 

 

Sadie might be good at peer pressure. I can tell some of her friends are scared to jump off the water fall, but once everyone starts chanting your name, they somehow get talked in to it :)
