Birthday Blitz

For some reason, we didn't have many birthday parties this summer, but boy have they started this month. I feel like most of Sadie's friends have birthdays in the fall & it may be because I started finding friends around her age.

Saturday morning I took Sadie to Matthew's house for his 4th birthday. They have a huge backyard & had all sorts of goodies set up back there. First they had a bounce house:

Next to it was a sand box:

Next to it was a kiddie pool:

and the main attraction was the bounce house water slide:

You can't really tell, but there is about a foot of water at the bottom & there is water spraying everywhere - from each of the sides, down the slide, etc. Sadie loved it:

My friend Maggie said it was cheaper to buy all of this to invest in a pool. True that. I speak from personal experience now :) But honestly, they have a huge backyard & the kids loved running around. Sometimes I wish my girls had summer birthdays so we could just have a party in the backyard. So easy.

We finally convinced the kids to come in so we could eat & have cake:

I think it is supposed to be a megatron cake? I don't know boy stuff, but I do know the cake was awesome! I asked her if she made it out of marshmallows & she said it was a marshmallow icing, that's how it got it's fluffiness & shape, but she cut out each square her self & made this cake from scratch. I am telling you, her parties are amazing & she is a fabulous baker!

Thanks Matthew for inviting Sadie - hope you enjoyed your party:

We left his party & drove straight to another. Bryan & Sophie met us at this one & I could tell Sophie had a hard morning. When I left the house she had shoes on, hair fixed & a bow in. Somehow she looked like this when Bryan brought her:

But she cheered up as soon as I gave her food! Sadie was equally excited to play with her girlfriends Harlow & Brynna:

But the real reason we were there was for Paxton:

I can't believe he turned 1! His party was a little more low key - probably more fun for mom & dad to visit with all of our friends while the girls played. Because that's how first parties go, right? They are more of a social gathering for the adults :)

Two parties down, many more to go..... But we are so thankful for the friends who we celebrate!
