The Sweet & Low Down

Bryan & I went to a birthday party Saturday night for one of our friends & it was so much fun! First off, we didn't have the girls so it was an adult night out. But second, our friends Brad & Catherine just moved in to a new house recently so it was fun seeing it & I have to tell you, they throw a good party! They hired a local food truck who makes sliders & they were awesome:

I chose the traditional Roadhouse which basically has bacon, barbecue sauce, jalapenos, cheddar & crispy fried onions. This is a typical burger Bryan & I would usually order anywhere. Then I thought I was being daring by trying The Sweet & Low Down. It had goat cheese & strawberry preserves on the burger & it was delicious! Like I want to try this at home delicious! I am not a huge fan of goat cheese, but it kind of melted on the burger & something about the combination of that with the strawberry jelly was so good.

Later in the evening, someone talked me into trying the Nutty Burger:

It comes with bacon, lettuce, tomato & peanut butter. Yes, you read that right - peanut butter! I cut the vegetables (of course I don't like veggies) but again, the peanut butter kind of melted & it was a messy surprise. Not sure if I would recreate this at home but definitely worth trying.

What I forgot to take pictures of was the amazing cupcakes they served from Trailercakes. They were huge & over the top good. Can you tell I ate a lot?

Besides the food, we really enjoyed seeing old friends. We used to go to church with Brad & Catherine & they were in our small group, but we all left the church & went our separate ways after Sadie was born. We had so much fun getting to see them & catch up:

Brad & Catherine - thank you for the invite! The party was a blast & your house is beautiful. I am so glad we have kept in touch throughout the years. We need to get together with our girls soon :)
