We drove to Mineral Wells last Friday to meet my parents for the weekend for my mom's family reunion. I think this was only the second one we had since Bryan & I have been together, so it was fun getting to see extended family. My mom's sister is in the process of moving there so we got to see her new house & we spent a lot of time with her family. This is my mom & my Aunt Penny:
Unfortunately, we lost their mom (my grandmother) last year so it was also our first reunion without her. I'm sure she was there in spirit & smiling when she saw all of these crazy cousins playing together:
Thankfully Penny has a play room at her house so the kids had fun taking over that space while we visited & looked at pictures. Not everyone came on Friday but most were there by lunch time on Saturday:
We kind of took over one of the local hotels & they let us have the conference room for the weekend so everyone congregated in there eating, visiting & looking at more pictures. Of course I didn't get pictures of everyone, but I tried to snap a group picture. I counted about 47 people but I'm sure there were more than that.
Natalie & her family drove up on Saturday morning & Sadie could not have been more excited to see them:
Even Bryan got on the floor & wrestled with them:
But we spent the majority of our afternoon at the hotel pool. All of the kids couldn't wait to go swimming:
Sophie had a rough night so she stayed in the room & napped with Bryan. I didn't bring a bathing suit so my parent's got to spend extra time with their grandkids in the pool:
I think the kids might have worn them out! They were jumping, swimming & climbing all over them! The big kids even jumped off the waterfalls:
Later that night, the entire family went to a restaurant for dinner but Bryan & I left a little early. We had a party back in Frisco, so we left Saturday evening but the girls got to spend one more night in the hotel with Mimi & Doc. By the time they came home on Sunday, they were exhausted! Let's just say they didn't wake up until 9:30 on Monday morning & then they both took 3-4 hour naps! So glad we got to re-connect with family & enjoy the weekend together.
