The Doseum

Bryan suggested I take the girls to the children's museum while we were in San Antonio because he thought there was one located within walking distance of the Riverwalk. Apparently, there used to be, but it was closed down. However, a new one had just opened the week before we got there & everyone told us that we had to try it. I was a little skeptical since it had only been open a week, but it was amazing! It was probably one of the best children's museums I have ever been to. If you are ever in San Antonio, it is worth the trip. It was about a 5 minute cab ride from downtown:

As soon as we got there, Sadie wanted to do the outside exhibits. She loved all of the water tables:

Poor Sophie wanted to play but we kept her in her stroller outside:

It was hot, crowded & wet. She probably would have slipped or tried to jump in the water knowing her :)

Sadie also liked the play ground. It was really designed for children over the age of 5, so I was kind of nervous watching her. She was really proud of herself for walking the tight rope because it went kind of high:

We finally convinced her to come inside & then we found the area for the little ones:

It's funny how all children's museums look the same & offer the same activities, such as grocery shopping:

As you can see they had an HEB store set up where the girls got to shop & Sadie scanned her purchases. She then made a stop at the bank to get money from the ATM:

Sophie is over in the corner checking her safety deposit box :)

Afterwards, they went to work in the vet's office:

Sadie really liked it in here. She picked out a pet cat that she had to scan, look at x-rays, put a band aid on & then give her a bath. It was pretty cute.

They also took turns driving the trolley & the airplane:

I didn't get a picture, but they had these red lights placed throughout the area for the kids driving the cars & no one else paid attention to them except for Sadie. She would stop every time she saw a red light, even when she was walking! And she would wait patiently until it turned green.

They would have spent all day in here, but we literally had to drag them to another area that focused on lights & sounds. Both of them really enjoyed this too:

There were other areas of the museum that we didn't even make it to. Some of them they were probably too young for & others we missed because we ran out of time. Honestly, this place was awesome & I would totally recommend it & would go back again. Next time we will go earlier so we can enjoy more time exploring!
