Cruising with the Cousins

While we were in San Antonio, my sister drove up with her kids one afternoon to hang out with us while Daniel was working & Bryan was at his conference. Needless to say my girls (especially Sadie) was beyond excited to see their cousins! She couldn't wait to ride the boat down the Riverwalk, so that was the first thing we did when they got here:

Natalie & Max were with us, but Max's wheelchair was parked in the back of the boat & Natalie was helping him. Plus, she took this picture :) The kids absolutely loved floating along & looking at everything:

Afterwards, we walked the river front until we found an appropriate restaurant for our group:

Sophie was a little unsure of the animals, but we had her facing the aquarium, which was probably more her speed :) She had no idea the elephants & gorillas behind her kept going off every 15 minutes!

After dinner, we walked some more, a lot more actually. We saw a sign for a park & then someone told us how awesome it was so we thought it would be worth the trek, until we got there & realized that is was torn down amidst a construction nightmare :( But we did find some water fountains close by so we let the kids run around & get wet:

Sadie was very hesitant at first because she didn't want to get dirty or wet. She is my rule follower & loves playing in water when she has her bathing suit on. She could hardly imagine getting her clothes wet! She finally gave in & decided to give it a go once she saw Zoe & Kason doing it, although she still didn't get nearly as wet as they did.

After we walked all that way, we decided it was time to treat the kids with one of my favorites:

Bryan actually met us for ice cream because he had just finished his dinner meeting. As we were walking Natalie back to her car, we stumbled upon a school bus from Pecos, Texas. Does anyone know where that is?

We are talking about west Texas. That is where my parents are from & where I spent most of my life going to visit my grandparents. We could not believe we saw this & had to take pictures for my parents:

I mean seriously, that's where my parent's went to school! The bus driver was really nice & he chatted with us for a while as he let the kids play on the bus. That might have made up for us not finding the park!

Thanks again for coming to visit Nat! I usually explore cities by myself with the girls while Bryan is working, so it was fun to have someone to tag along with. And speaking of tagging along, thank you Bryan for letting us come with you. I know sometimes it might be easier to travel by yourself, but I love experiencing new places with our girls:
