The Children's Garden

We had some friends invite us to the Arboretum on Friday & we were excited to go since we hadn't been yet this spring. Last time we went was in the fall & our spring has been rainy & cold, but it ended up being the perfect day while we were there. I have taken the girls several times, but this time was definitely different. The Children's Garden is fairly new & it was open last time we were there, but since it was the fall, it wasn't very crowded & the girls just stayed in their stroller & got out to play every now & then. This time it was packed. Apparently a lot of schools took fields trips there since it was a Friday & the end of the school year :( It was also hot so all of the water features were on & every child there was running around in their bathing suit, including Sadie:

Sophie had her bathing suit on, but I never really took her clothes off because she didn't do as much as Sadie, but she tried:

She mostly followed Gavin & the big girls around:

I didn't take a whole lot of pictures of the girls because they were so busy running around & I was trying my best to keep up with them both, but I did catch one shot of the big girls playing at the sand table:

Eventually the girls got hungry so we left the children's gardens & headed to the main garden to have a picnic:

This felt like old times. I personally like walking the main gardens this time of year so I can see all of the beautiful spring flowers!

On a side note, Sophie is a little harder to picnic with than Sadie was. She kept crawling over to Julieanne & grabbing all of their food! I thought I was being smart by bringing one of those fruit & veggies purees in a squeeze pouch, but not so much:

This is only the second time I have given her one & both times were horrible experiences so I probably won't be giving her one again. For some reason, she is impatient & gets frustrated with them so she squeezes it, throws it & then makes a mess every where. Luckily this was an outdoor blanket that I popped in the washing machine when I got home. That little stinker!
