I've always heard about this free bowling program in the summer but we have never participated because I thought Sadie was too little. This year I decided to sign her up & I am so glad we did! Luckily there is a bowling alley right here in Frisco which participates & literally each kid gets to bowl 2 games a day for free. FREE! Technically, you have to rent the shoes, but they were only $2.50. It officially started this week so we went to check it out while the big kids are still in school. I invited my friend Bethany with her kids Olivia & Logan and we lucked out because I think there were only 2 lanes with people on them, so our kids got to run around & be as loud & crazy as they wanted :)
The girls bowled while the little ones crawled/walked around. We decided to go with the bumper lanes & they wanted to use the ramp also. Both were a good idea:
The ramp really gave them the momentum they needed. We tried to show them how to bowl on their own without the ramp:
and then this happened:
In case you are wondering what I am talking about, you will notice the ball is not blurry. That's because it is not in motion :) They weren't strong enough to roll it all the way down the lane so it stalled halfway!
The girls cracked me up because after they bowled, they would get down & watch it until the very end:
Sadie had a personal cheerleader:
She would get so excited & clap every time we would or she would see the pins fall down! She also spent some time chasing Logan around & trying to steal his granola bar:
I know the lighting wasn't the best, but hey, we were at a bowling alley & it was our first time, so I had to take pictures! Sadie wanted to take a selfie of her & Olivia before we left:
It actually would have been a decent picture if her finger wasn't in the way! Then I asked her to take a picture of us with the little ones, but that one didn't turn out. Of course. Our 2 free games only lasted us an hour, but we will definitely be going back this summer!
Thanks for meeting us Bethany - we are so glad you came back to Texas!
