Sadie had her last basketball game on Saturday & she got her first trophy! She did act a little shy at the beginning, but eventually she warmed up & she even dribbled the ball down the court one time:
She would probably do better if the games weren't at 8:00 in the morning. She normally wakes up around 8:00 or 8:30. She probably loved practice more because it was more fun & less pressure, plus there wasn't an audience. Both sets of grandparents came to a game & she was even more shy with them being there.
After the game we always line up & form a tunnel for the kids to run through & she loves this part:
After their game, Coach Coleman held a quick awards ceremony & Sadie was so excited to get her first trophy:
Not only did we enjoy watching her play every week, but we definitely saw improvement throughout the season. Even though she got a little shy during the games, she still learned how to listen to her coach, follow directions & work as a team. Obviously she is only 3 & was the youngest on her team, but she did better than I imagined. Her team is actually continuing this summer but we will be out of town too much, so we will give her the opportunity to play again in the fall. I am really curious to see what extra curricular activities she will choose as she gets older.
But we will always remember her first team sport with Coach Coleman & the Hot Shots:
