One of my favorite meetings of the year at MOPS is when we have our tea & testimony, which is always the week before Easter. It is a very emotional & serious meeting where 3 of our women stand up in front of everyone (there are 160 of us!) to give their testimonies. Very powerful & lots of tears shed. I know it's not our typical, light hearted meeting where we visit & make crafts, but I really look forward to it every year. This year one of my friends gave her testimony, so it was even more personal listening to her speak.
I also love the theme. It is the only meeting of the year that we dress up :) This year's theme was Downton Abbey & most women wore dresses, pearls, hats, hair pieces, etc:
The women at my table did not disappoint - they looked beautiful! We enjoyed a nice, catered brunch while we all sat around & cried :)
We are also surprised by the decorations every year because each Mentor Mom gets to decorate their own table. Daralynn did an awesome job & I thought our table was beautiful too:
She had fresh flowers & candles everywhere. And who could forget the candy? I am a stress eater, so I gobbled up a lot of Hershey kisses and m&m's listening to everyone speak.
I know it doesn't sound like a fun meeting since we had to dress up & sit around with a lot of crying women, but moments like these are what make MOPS special - getting to learn, share & connect with other women who have either gone though or are going through something & have a story to share. I am so thankful I found this group 3 years ago!
