Sophie's First Easter Egg Hunt

Yesterday we hosted our monthly MOPS play date & since it's the week before Easter, I thought it was only appropriate that we have an egg hunt! Easter has kind of snuck up on me this year & we have been so busy, that we didn't really have a lot planned. We usually go to the big hunt our city puts on, but it was last weekend & we weren't able to squeeze it in our schedule. Our neighborhood usually has one also, but it got cancelled this year. So we made up for it at our house!

My friend Maggie surprised us with the cutest snacks:

She made bunny tails out of doughnut holes! Sadie was so excited when saw the pink peeps, but after a quick bite, she realized that she didn't like them :) Everyone brought a snack to share so we started the party by eating & then the kids played outside. The weather was beautiful so we spent most of the morning outside:

I didn't plan Easter outfits this year & apparently Sadie must not have had one when she was this age because I couldn't find anything in Sadie's old clothes, but I found this adorable chevron dress with a yellow chick on it that Zoe wore:

She looked so cute! And I felt like she had something new since it was an outfit I hadn't seen before! I love having extra hand me downs from Zoe - thanks Nat!

My friend Maggie took these pictures of Sadie & her son Matthew swinging & they could not be any cuter:

Finally we tricked the kids into going inside so we could hide eggs. The older kids are at such a fun age right now - they ran out as fast as they could because they were so excited! We kind of sat the babies down in the grass & they crawled around & played with the few eggs we put in front of them:

This was Sophie's first egg hunt & she didn't quite understand. She didn't really like the grass but she did understand the concept of putting the eggs in your basket. But then she would take them out & repeat. It was kind of easy to get a group photo because all of the big kids congregated in the same area so they could check out their loot:

Maggie even surprised the kids & made some money eggs! Sadie was so excited to find quarters inside :)

We lucked out it was a beautiful day & we enjoyed spending time outside with friends. It was actually my birthday yesterday & I couldn't have asked for anything more than spending time with friends & my two favorite girls:
