We technically came home from Conroe last Tuesday night, but we have been so busy unpacking, doing laundry, putting up the Christmas presents, putting up the Christmas decorations, mailing new year's cards, etc. that I have tried to ignore the computer. Whenever I stopped to take a break, I watched a movie with Bryan. We hardly ever watch movies & I think we have seen 6 in the past week! I kind of enjoyed having him home & away from his computer. Technically, he is usually home since he works from home, but he is always in front of the computer & he hardly touched it over the past week so I tried to do the same. But now I have some blogging to catch up on!
When we came home Tuesday night, Sadie was beyond thrilled because we told her that Santa left her a present at home in Frisco. She talked about it the entire way home & ran in the house trying to find it right away. Little did she know that it was actually outside in the backyard:
We weren't thinking that we should have left sooner so we could have gotten home before dark. Oh-well. We turned the lights on & she could see it good enough! As soon as she saw it, she started screaming & ran straight for the rocking horse swing:
I even jumped on a swing with Sophie so she could check it out:
Thank goodness she got a baby swing for Christmas so we can have something safer for her. We have been talking about getting a swing set since we built the pool, in fact, we have been researching them to see measurements to make sure that we left enough grass to have one when we were building the decking around the pool. We hated to spend the money frivolously this summer while we were doing everything else so we waited for Christmas & luckily Santa got the memo.
He even hooked the girls up with a play house built in:
The front side has a door to go underneath the play set & the opposite side has a ladder & a climbing wall to go the second story. Inside there is a telephone, sink & stove top overlooking a snack window & picnic table/bench:
All of my pictures were blurry because she was jumping & moving around so much. In the picture above, she had pulled down the telephone because she had to call Mimi & Doc to tell them what she got :) Sadie never made it upstairs because she was too busy downstairs. I tried to push Sophie down the slide but she was not happy with it:
I don't blame her - we had just been in the car for 4 hours, she was hungry & it was freezing outside. Needless to say, we went in shortly after & unfortunately, we haven't really spent much time out there since then. We had a major cold snap & it rained for like 4 days straight. Hopefully we will spent plenty of time out there this spring when it starts to warm up around here. Thank you Santa for hooking the Dodson girls up! I don't think there is anything else we can fit into our back yard now :)
