Saturday morning was the City of Frisco's annual community/veteran day parade & we got to participate again. Frisco ISD is actually one of the first floats in the parade & then it is followed up by all of the drill teams/cheerleaders/football teams/bands for all of our high schools. We participated with Bryan again since he is a Trustee. Last year, he walked with Sadie while I rode in the back of the truck since I was pregnant. This year, he walked with Sophie & Sadie wanted to ride in the back of the truck. Here we are waiting for the parade to begin:
It was a little chilly that morning but we were fine in the sun until the wind started blowing as the truck was driving:
Sadie & I waved & threw out candy. Actually, I mostly waved, because Sadie acted a little shy:
She may have stolen a piece or two.....
Bryan was hard at work passing out candy & shaking hands:
Sophie didn't have a clue what was going on, but she's always happy when she's being pushed around :) Sadie probably spent more time waving to Daddy & Sophie than she did to anyone else! They finally caught up to us at one point:
As soon as we hit the end of the parade route, everyone piled in the back of the truck for a ride back to our parking spots. They even left Sophie in her stroller:
Poor Sophie - we were driving so fast & since she was sitting up higher, the wind was blowing her face & her eyes were all watery. Sadie thought it was fun! She was even more excited when we got back to the parking lot. There were still floats sitting in the parking lot that hadn't left yet & the last float was Santa Clause:
She was so excited when she saw him but she got a little timid when we got up close.
By the way, in case you are wondering why we are all decked out in our longhorn gear, that's because we went straight from the parade to Austin for the game. With the girls! Check back tomorrow for pictures :)
