Howdy Folks!

We made our annual trip back to the fair on Friday but this time we took the girls along & it was Sophie's first time. She was a trooper. We were there from 10:30 - 2:30 & she stayed awake the entire time. I don't even think she fussed at all. I think she enjoyed being pushed around in the stroller outside :) Sadie on the other hand was so excited - she talked about it all week!

We started at the children's barnyard & the girls got to see & feed the animals:

Then we made our way over to the children's farm where Sadie got to feed the animals, plant some seeds, pick vegetables, milk a cow & go shopping at the market:

After all that hard work, Sadie was hungry so we hit up the food pavilion & had a fried lunch sampler:

First are the Tater Twisters, those are one of Bryan's favorites. Next are the fried sriracha balls which we tried last time & liked so much, we got again. The next was another winner this year - fried loaded baked potato. I thought it was ok, but Bryan really liked it. Finally, I requested corn nuggets. I didn't even know they sold those at the fair, but I love them! All 3 of us sampled a little bit of everything except for Sophie. She is still on a strict diet from her doctor, so she got to enjoy her usual:

We did branch out & try some new desserts. Bryan went with fried chocolate covered strawberries:

Sadie didn't know what to think about it. She loves strawberries, but not like this :) So she mostly licked the chocolate off:

I chose the fried s'mores & it was delicious! We were able to hide this one from Sadie while she was in the stroller, so Bryan & I fought over it:

We ended our day in the Midway, or should I say Kidway:

That's right - Sadie was tall enough to ride several of the rides & she loved every single one! She rode all of them by herself & was so proud:

Sophie was a trooper. I thought she would get fussy since we were stopping a lot & not moving around the rides, but she just sat there patiently watching Sadie:

Bryan planned it just right & saved her last tickets for her favorite ride of all:

After all those crazy rides, she still prefers the carousel :)

We had such a fun day & I think this is going to be a fun tradition to do as a family as the girls get older. Who knows, maybe one of these days we won't have a diaper bag & a stroller & can actually ride a ride with them!
