The Green Egg Guinea Pigs

A few weeks ago, our neighbors got a new Green Egg smoker. Actually, the girls bought it for Jonathan to surprise him for his birthday & we happened to be there when he found his surprise because they needed Bryan's help unloading it out of Daniel's car. That's what neighbors are for, right?! After a few practice runs, they finally had us over for dinner on Sunday night to try out the new Green Egg. Jonathan started smoking a 13 pound brisket around midnight & he slept on the couch all night because he kept getting up to tend to it. Fast forward to Sunday afternoon & we finally got to savor it & it was delicious! He even made a home made barbecue sauce that was yummy. Now that I am talking about it, I regret not taking a picture of it because it was so big he was holding it like a baby :)

And speaking of baby, poor Sophie was hungry also but she didn't get to indulge in the brisket like we did, but we did set up her exersaucer like a make shift high chair so she could feed herself while we ate:

One of these days she'll get to join the older girls at the big table:

Alexa & Nicole are always so great with our girls, even though they are older. Of course they moved in right after we did, so we have watched them grow up as well:

After dinner, we spent a couple hours swimming in their pool & we had a blast! I mean we stayed over there way too late, but when the pool got cool, we just jumped in the hot tub :)

Sadie has really gotten stronger swimming this summer & this was the best she has ever done. I think she is really starting to be courageous watching the older kids. Bryan got some awesome videos so I will try to load them one day this week. First we got her to swim the entire length of the pool by herself! And then Bryan & Jonathan started throwing her across the pool & before we knew it she was jumping off of the hot tub (which is at least 4 feet higher then the pool) & swimming across the pool. I am telling you, it was crazy watching my 2 1/2 year old daughter - she has no fear when she steps into water!

Thanks Clark family for inviting us over! I can't believe we don't get together more often since we live behind each other :)
