In case you are wondering what that is, it is hail. We had a horrible storm last night, probably one of the worst we have ever had since we have lived here for the past 5 years. There are already roofer signs all over the neighborhood & my neighbor across the street has already gotten hers inspected & she definitely has damage which means we probably we do to. One of our other neighbors actually had a window busted by the hail!
I was home by myself with the girls & I will admit, it was kind of scary. I had to keep bringing everything into the garage because everything was flying away. My phone kept blowing up with emergency alerts & I had the news on because we kept getting emergency messages across the tv as well. Once the storm died down, I let Sadie go outside to check it out:
Technically, she never made it outside. She tried to pick some of the hail up, realized it was cold & then she quickly put it back down! I didn't venture out very far, but I did glance around to see if we had any bigger pieces & I definitely found some:
That is a picture of our back yard I took standing from the porch. You can tell it was still storming because that's why the picture looks fuzzy - combination of the wind & the rain. But do you see that massive ball of ice in the corner?
Here is another piece that I brought in for Sadie to play with:
This was by far the biggest hail I have ever seen! Thank goodness both of our cars were covered & we have insurance on our house :)
