Not only did Bryan & I celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary yesterday, but Sophie also turned 4 months old! In honor of her birthday, I took her to the mall & introduced her to the Easter Bunny:
Luckily they aren't scared at this age! I tried to plan our visit around her schedule so she would be in a good mood & thankfully it worked. I was obviously able to get some smiles out of her, but she was looking at me the entire time & not the camera. But she still looks adorable!
Sophie is doing amazing & growing faster than Sadie did. She just finished wearing her 0-3 month clothing & I am in the process of transitioning her to 3-6 month clothes, but I can already tell she is taller than Sadie so she is starting to outgrow some of her clothes (especially pajamas) faster than I anticipated. We also had her wearing a size 1 diaper (which probably still fits her the best) but since I had already used all of my size 1 one diapers that I had at the house, I started putting her in size 2 this week since we already had a couple of bags. She gets 5 bottles a day & we just increased her formula to 5 ounces a bottle, so she is eating about 25 ounces a day. She really does not like to burp & goes ballistic when you try to take the bottle away from her & she isn't finished with it, so we have skipped burping in the middle of the bottle & strictly do it when she is finished.
Her sleeping habits are still amazing for her age (& much better than what I hear from most of my friends with babies her age) but we have had a harder week. The past couple of nights she has started waking up a little earlier. She does not like to be swaddled anymore, so she wakes up moaning & groaning trying to break out of her swaddle. And most nights she does :( I believe this started because she has really learned how to move. I talked earlier about how she loves her play mat & she has been rocking back & forth for a few weeks now, but on Tuesday, a few days before she turned 4 months, she officially started rolling. Every time you put her on her stomach, she rolls right back over to her back. So I think she goes to sleep fine being swaddled because she is so tired, but when she wakes up during the night, she wants to break free & roll around. Unfortunately, I have tried letting her nap during the day without being swaddled & she can't handle it so we'll just have to keep practicing. I remember Sadie being swaddled for about 5 months, but I don't remember her having such a hard time going from swaddled to unswaddled......
We went to the doctor for her 4 month check up earlier this month & she is doing great physically. She is a healthy baby who is developing right on track. Her stats are as follows:
Weight: 11.96 lbs., 17%
Height: 24.5", 74%
Head 15.5", 30%
These numbers reassure me that she is still on the smaller side weight wise (which Sadie always was) but she is much taller! Sadie barely got over the 25% for height until she got older. I think now she is a little less than 50%. Sadie was always shorter & squattier while I think Sophie is going to be taller & thinner. The only reason I care at this point is I want to make sure that all of Sadie's clothes can continue to be passed down during the correct season :)
Speaking of Sadie, I went back & looked for her Easter picture since they were both 4 months old when they had it taken:
I took them to the same place (Stonebriar Mall) but obviously it was a female Easter Bunny with Sadie & a male Easter Bunny with Sophie. I even dressed them in the same outfits with the same bow! I am pretty impressed that I got good pictures of both of them with big smiles :) So what do you think - do my girls look alike?
