That's what Sadie was saying yesterday as Bryan tackled his first half marathon!
He signed up for this before Sophie was born & has pretty much been training since then. He has always ran & worked out, but he has never ran this far. After he ran the 10K Turkey Trot over Thanksgiving, he realized he was ready for something more & he conquered it! His goal was to run the race in less than 2 hours & he completed it in 1 hour, 59 minutes!! Way to go Bryan - we could not be more proud of you!
That's him & Jennifer getting ready to finish the race. She ran with him at the Turkey Trot also & I have to confess that her parents took this picture. I tried my best to make it down there to see him finish, but by the time I drove in to Dallas, fought all of the race day traffic & parking, got the girls in the stroller & walked 20 minutes to the finish line, we missed him :( I got automatic text messages updating me of his status & I got the message that he finished while we were parking. Oh-well, there were over 20,000 people there so I would have had a hard time seeing him anyway. We were able to find him afterwards so we could celebrate:
Sadie was very emotional. From the minute I woke her up, I told her Daddy was running & we had to go find him. And then we get there & there are so many people & she couldn't find him, so she started crying :(
And this little cheerleader didn't know what was going on:
But she is a trooper & goes everywhere we go. At least she looked the part! I had her in her Under Armor outfit & Sadie had her Nike track suit on. Thanks Mimi & Doc - they always dress their grand kids sporty!
I know it has been a long hard couple of months trying to run in the cold weather but your persistence paid off. And I appreciate you sacrificing your time to run earlier or later whenever I needed help with the girls. It definitely wasn't an ideal time to train for your first long race right when you have a newborn baby, but somehow you did & we could not be more proud. We love you babe & I can't wait to race with you next time! (well, maybe just a 5k or 10k - I don't know about anything longer than that!)
