TX/OU Game Day

Yesterday was one of our favorite days for Longhorn fans - TX/OU game day at Fair Park! We have been going regularly for the past 6 years & for most of those years, we went into the game fairly confidently only to come home losing :( But yesterday was a nice surprise!

Usually all of our friends come into town & we make a weekend out of it. Somehow this year all of our friends bailed for one reason or another, but Bryan & I decided to go anyway. We got Sadie ready for game day, but then we dropped her off at her friend's house :) For those who don't know - the game is at the cotton bowl during the State Fair of Texas, so this is the most crowded day at the fair & not somewhere I plan on taking Sadie anytime soon!

Doesn't she look adorable? She had her game day outfit on too! Plus, I packed her backpack & lunch just like she was going to school. I knew she would be over there for a long day! As you can see, Byron & Tatum were patiently waiting for her to come & play :)

As soon as Bryan & I got there, we headed to Fletchers for our annual game day tradition - Corny Dogs before the game!

This is probably one of the only times all year where I actually eat a hot dog or a corn dog! Then we headed straight to the game. We had great seats thanks to our friends Dave & Adriana - who we missed by the way! Hope to see you in a few weeks!

We honestly went into this game knowing that we would probably lose, but we were pleasantly surprised. We haven't celebrated a win like this at Fair Park in several years!

Afterwards, we celebrated by partaking in all of the flavorful food the fair had to offer - & yes, most of it was fried! We started with our entrees - Bryan went with the fried grilled cheese sandwich. We discovered this yummy treat a few years ago & it's one of his favorites. It comes with a creamy tomato soup that you dip it in. I chose the fried king ranch casserole. I make this dish at home & it one an award this year, so I figured we would try it out. It was pretty good actually!

We followed up this with dessert - I went with my old favorite: fried chocolate chip cookie dough. Just what the pregnant woman was craving!!

Unfortunately, we had to wait in line 30 minutes for this, but it was worth every minute! Bryan stuck with tradition & got a funnel cake, which happens to be one of his all time favorites.

Sadie apparently had an awesome time playing with her friends, because I got several texts during the day with cute pictures:

Overall our day was a win for parties all around - The Longhorns won! And I am so glad Mack Brown can leave with this victory on his record. Sadie had a super fun day with her friends (thanks again Beau & Jamie - we owe you!). And Bryan & I had a fabulous day together. We are trying to enjoy as many dates as possible before our new one comes. I have a feeling we may be staying home a little more until we get comfortable with having 2!
