Trick or Treat at the Farm

Our friend Jamie found a new place for us to have a Halloween play date, so we met up with our friends yesterday. It was at the Heritage Farmstead Museum in Plano. They had a pre-school program yesterday where the kids could dress up & trick or treat around the farm while they also got to participate in Halloween games. We saw lots of animals - fake & real :) Sadie preferred the fake ones:

She actually did ok with the real ones because they were all behind a fence. We did find a real calf, but he was stuffed & on display. She wasn't afraid of him at all - in fact she even fed him something to drink!

She also got to sit on a saddle for the first time but I think she was bored because it wasn't doing anything to entertain her:

The wheel barrow was much more fun because she could pile in there with her friends:

There were a lot of fun activities, but Sadie didn't want to participate in most of them. She just wanted to run around & check everything out while her friends pumpkin bowled & bobbed for apples:

Of course they all did a lot of trick or treating:

I think this may have been good practice because I only let her have one lollipop - other than that, she had to learn how to put the candy in her bag & she did pretty good!

They also found story time in one of the houses & they were all very interested in what the witch was reading them:

But the best part of the day was our wagon ride:

Somehow we all managed to squeeze on there! I was so disappointed because I thought this was such a great picture of all of us & of course Mia & I had our eyes shut :( Sadie started out with ride in my lap, but before the end she had moved next to Tatum. Are these two girls cute or what? I think they may grow up being best friends!

I feel blessed to have found these women & their children. It is hard to imagine that we have been getting together for almost 2 years now!
