The City of Frisco participated in a nation wide event last night called National Night Out. Frisco has planned this event for over 10 years in celebration of America's Night Against Crime. Each neighborhood participates & the local police officers & firemen take turns visiting all of the block parties.
Our neighborhood party was at our community center. It started with free pizza - yummy! And that means I didn't have to cook or clean the kitchen last night :) They also had free snow-cones:
After we ate, Sadie got to meet a police officer who temporarily made her a junior officer, badge & all!
Then it was off to the fire truck where they let her sit inside & play with all of their equipment:
Next up, the dunk tank! It started out as a joke where any of the home owners could take their turns dunking the members of the HOA board, but luckily we didn't have any disgruntled neighbors, so it was mostly kids who thought it was fun. What made it more fun for me was the fact that Bryan is on the board - Sadie & I couldn't wait to see him get dunked!
After all the adults had their turn, the kids took over & started dunking each other, including our neighbors Alexa & Nicole:
Of course we couldn't go to the community center without letting Sadie go for a swing:
or a dip in the pool:
Even though it was a 100+ degrees outside last night, we enjoyed seeing everyone & spending time outside. And fortunately the heat doesn't seem to bother Sadie because as you can see, she is all smiles!
