8th Month Update

That's right - Sadie turned 8 months old on Wednesday & a lot of unexpected surprises happened at the same time. First, we went to physical therapy that morning & her therapist said that she has done so good the last couple of times that she didn't need to come back! She has full range of motion when looking to the right & left & she can finally hold her head up straight without a tilt :) I know this doesn't sound like much, but she has gone to therapy once a week since February & we have worked hard with her! Here are some pictures of her last session:

I know her facial expressions look kind of funny in these pictures. Her therapist took off her helmet to do some stretches & measurements & when she put it back on, I think she put it on too tight..... The good news is that she graduated from therapy & we now have 1 less appointment to go to every week :)

Later that night, she finally got her first tooth! She has been drooling like crazy for the past 3-4 months. And she has been fussy for the past month. There have also been a couple of other warning signs so I kept thinking the tooth would break through any day - I could see it underneath the gum, but it took a while to break the skin. You can't see it too good, but you can definitely feel it when you put your finger in her mouth!

Also, we bumped her up to eating 3 times a day now. That girl eats like a champ - anything I give her. At least she isn't a picky eater - we'll see how long that lasts.....

We also have some major developmental things we are working on, such as crawling. She started creeping backwards about a month ago. I have watched her crawl backwards until she got stuck underneath our bed, into a corner, into her closet, etc. We have been working diligently on her going forward, but she hasn't quite figured that out yet. Hopefully she'll be moving soon & then I may regret it after I am chasing her all over the house!
