Shelter in The Vault

Yesterday, Bryan had his monthly follow up appointment with Dr. Rizvi, his Oncologist. He is still in remission & feeling better every day, but he will continue to go in for regular check ups for the next few years. We were there when the severe storms & tornadoes popped up across DFW & since they were moving East, we decided to take put at the Cancer Center until it was clear to drive home. Luckily, they had TVs, radio & computers all tracking the storms, however when things got severe, they locked up the office & made us shelter in "The Vault". This is the room where all of the radiation is performed & the walls are apparently 4 foot thick. Who knew we would be hanging out at the Cancer Center for 3 hours with all of the other cancer patients, nurses, doctors, staff, etc. There was probably 40-50 of us in this one room - they even had to bring the chemo patients in while they were still getting their infusions! Luckily they provided us with chips & drinks. Even better, Sadie slept for part of it & when she woke up she kept herself pretty entertained, otherwise it might have been a long afternoon for both of us & everyone else!
