4 Month Update

Sadie turns 4 months old on Easter Sunday & we went in for her check-up this week. She is finally starting to grow & you can definitely see it in her chubby little cheeks & fat rolls that she finally has on her arms & legs! Here are her stats:

Weight: 12.85 lbs., 26.02%
Length: 24", 37.06%

However, when we were at the hospital last week, they only measured her at 23" & I personally think she is closer to 23" than 24". I can tell in the way her clothes fit her. Which by the way, I finally moved her up & she started wearing 3-6 month clothing in the past week.

She is also developing very well. While we were at her check-up, she did a few things that surprised our pediatrician because she said they were 6 month developmental tasks. First off, she is talking a lot (or trying to talk at least) & Dr. Terry heard her say the consonant H sound which apparently is huge! Who knew?! And she is tracking items really well. She totally recognizes her pacifier & toys & when we put them in front of her, she picks them up & plays with them on her own. She also recognizes her bottle & goes crazy for it! She grabs for it with both hands, brings it to her mouth & holds it to eat. Granted, she can't hold it by herself, by I am amazed that she innately knew how to do this on her own! We talked about next steps when she is ready to start cereal & baby food but we will probably wait until closer to 6 months or when she is ready. Sadie is still a great sleeper. She sleeps about 3-4 hours during the day with naps & 11-12 hours at night. We still have to swaddle her at night though - I think that & her sound machine are the tricks for a full night's sleep!

Here are a few pictures from her appointment the other day - I think she is so cute sitting up by herself!

And finally, this is our favorite picture - please excuse the action shot, but this is a typical snapshot of Sadie on a daily basis. She spits up more than the average baby - believe me, out physical therapist & the nurse at the hospital last week even told us so! Most of our friends don't even wear bibs or they take them off after they feed, but Sadie lives in one every minute of the day, except for when she is sleeping :)
