Birthday Bliss

Yesterday was my official birthday, but I feel like I celebrated all weekend thanks to my loving husband. I had told him earlier this month that all I wanted was a day to myself & I finally got to have it on Saturday. He watched Sadie all day while I literally helped open & close stores all over Frisco & Plano! No, I am not exaggerating - that was one of my first shopping trips since she has been born & I had a ton of gift cards, coupons, birthday money, etc. just burning a hole in my pocket. I did take a break & meet the two of them for dinner that night. But don't worry, I didn't forget about Sadie one bit because I actually bought more for her than I did for myself! I guess that's what happens when you become a Mom.

Yesterday morning we went to church & lunch as a family. After Sadie's nap, I walked into her room to pick her up & found a sweet card that she made me & a beautiful charm from James Avery sitting in her crib beside her. Who knew she was so thoughtful?! I guess her Daddy took her shopping on Saturday also.......

That afternoon, Sadie got invited to Nicole's 4th birthday party at Pump It Up. Let me tell you, that was a new experience & she was definitely over stimulated at that party! I have never seen so many kids or bounce houses in my life! Bryan had a good time though - he tried every slide & house in the arena! After 1 hour she couldn't hang anymore.....

By the way, check out Nicole's cake - isn't it amazing? They brought us over some extra pieces today & it is delicious! Thanks Daniela!

After the party, Bryan surprised me & we dropped off Sadie at our friend's house. They have 2 little girls, Amelia & Ella, & they played with Sadie while we enjoyed a date night. Sweet Bryan let me do what ever I wanted, so we went to the movies & ate junk food. I figure we go to nice dinners quite often, but we really haven't been to the movies since she was born. Of course I chose a chick flick (remember, it is my birthday so Bryan had to see whatever I wanted!). We saw This Means War with Reese Witherspoon & it was cute. Not too girly, so I think Bryan enjoyed it too. Either that or we enjoyed the pizza/hot dog/popcorn/candy so much. I guess it's OK to take a day off from being healthy when it's your birthday!

By the way, here is a picture of sweet Amelia taking care of Sadie while we were out:

Are those two girls adorable or what?

  1. Happy Belated Birthday from the Bains, Shaye! I cracked up reading about your watching a movie and eating junk food--what could be better?!? Sadie is getting cuter every day!
