So I haven't posted an update on Bryan in a while because there hasn't been a whole lot going on. He has enjoyed having the month to rest & catch up without all of the doctor appointments! He did have a PET Scan last week & they compared it to the one he had at the very beginning. There is still part of a mass in his chest since it was so big, but it has shrunk considerably & all of the cancer activity is gone! This means that his 6 months of chemo worked!! Therefore, today we went back to the hospital for a simple outpatient procedure to have his port removed from his chest. Here is a picture before:
He is smiling because no port means he can golf again! And this also means he is one step closer to being finished with his treatments :)
And this picture is him waking up & in recovery. Still smiling! You recall we have been wearing lime green bracelets for lymphoma, which we are still wearing until he is 100% done. But he also wore a medical bracelet that said he has a port installed. That was the first thing he asked the nurse - can you please cut off my medical bracelet?!
Hopefully he will start radiation next week & he is expected to have 18 treatments - every day (Monday thru Friday) for 3 1/2 weeks. Will let you know what day he starts as we are anxiously waiting so he can finally be finished - just in time for him to hold Baby Dodson :)
