Radiation

I took Bryan in for radiation on Monday, however, it was only a quality assurance test. Basically, they wanted to make sure that all the mapping they did to his chest & neck lined up. They let me go back into the radiation area so I could see the machine & see how it worked exactly. It is a huge machine & Bryan has to lay completely still while he has a mask over his face.

After they got him lined up, we had to step out & they took me to the control room. In there they have a couple of TV monitors where you can see the patient & all of the computers & screens to actually run the machine.

It's pretty amazing how it works! I was thankful to see the process because the rest of the time I will probably wait in the lobby for him, but at least now I know what they are doing to him :) He went back in yesterday & had his first treatment - 1 down, 17 to go!
