Here is Bryan's chair - they had it all set up for him when we got there & there was even a sign in the chair with his name on it. They even set up an extra chair for me so I could sit with him all day :)
Here is Bryan at the beginning of the day. They just hooked him up to his port for the first time. I think that was the worst part of the day because his chest is still bruised & sore from having the port installed last week.
This was probably the best part of the day when we had our first visitor: Dr. Joshua James! For those who don't know, Josh is one of Bryan's best friends & they were college roomates at UT. Josh has been vital in helping Bryan get diagnosed & treated. I don't know what we would do without our own personal physician helping us every step of the way!
And finally, this is our chemo nurse, Krystal. As you can tell Bryan had a long day but at least he had wi-fi access so he was able to work on his laptop most of the day. He actually started getting tired towards the end, but he was a trooper and stayed awake most of the day. So far he is feeling ok, but he is taking a lot of medicine to counter balance the chemo drugs, so we will see how he does over the next few days.
Luckily he only has to do this every other week, so he has a while to rest up before the next treatment :)
Wow, you are smiling!! Shaye, thanks for the details, we appreciate knowing how things are going. I am praying for you guys throughout the day. Love, Dianna
ReplyDeleteAlways good to get that lst day over. We are praying for you guys. Keep the smiles. Love ya
ReplyDeleteWhat a day! I hope Bryan is feeling okay with all those drugs in him. Seems like quite a stupid statement... Hang in there, Bryan. Take it one day at a time. Know we are all pulling for you! BTW, are you on good 'ol Zofran for nauseia? I sure hope it works better for you than it did when I took it for morning sickness with Rhett. 8 mg's ain't nothin' when you're miserable. Anyway, we are praying for you both and think of y'all often, dear friends.
ReplyDeleteBryan, what a trooper you are! Cindy called me and filled me in on everything. Know that you and Shaye are in our prayers and that God is BIGGER than all of this! Stay strong!
ReplyDeleteIf you need anything let us know, we are right around the corner.

Hey Shaye! So, you're a new blogger, huh? :) I started in 2007 as a way to keep up with my family after we moved to Pennsylvania. It's a much better way to keep up than facebook! Glad the first few steps went smoothly. We are praying for you guys. I've added you to my google reader so I can keep up with you guys along the way.
ReplyDeleteShaye, Thank you so much for keeping everyone up to date! It is good to be near even though I am far away.
