Christmas Life Lately

December has been busy with both birthdays, school, sports & regular life, but of course it was sprinkled it with a lot of festive fun! Sophie is in the elementary choir & they were supposed to sing at Merry Main Street but unfortunately, it got cancelled due to rain so they had a Christmas concert at school instead:

You will notice in the last picture that she refused to hold up her Rudolph red nose. She was embarrassed:

Our church had a family movie night outside with hot cocoa, a petting zoo & snacks:

Our school cheerleaders have been festive at the basketball games this month, so that was extra fun:

I mentioned that we took Sophie & a friend to dinner but what I didn't mention last time is that they had a light up present that the girls had fun taking pictures with:

Then the girls switched roles & became the photographers. It was hilarious - Sophie was very opinionated & told us exactly where to sit, how to fold our hands, etc:

Afterwards we took them to see "The Gift of Christmas" at Prestonwood Baptist Church & it was fantastic:

My girlfriends & I met for lunch at a holiday pop up & it was SO cute!

I loved it so much I made a reservation for the 4 of us to go back on Sunday for lunch. We were surprised when we got there & the whole boardwalk was having a Christmas festival with free glitter tattoos, a DJ, booths for shopping, crafts for kids & even Santa Clause:

We've had several holiday parties. Bryan & I got invited to one for his work:

Sadie went to a friend's birthday/Christmas party at her house where they painted:

Sadie also had a Christmas party with her soccer team:

Sophie had her volleyball party earlier this month, but they did have a festive volleyball practice:

We even hosted their K-Life small group Christmas party at our house:

They played a few games, had a gift exchange & lots of yummy desserts. They even let Sophie join them:

Sophie had her final winter party at school. I am one of the room moms this year, so we planned a winter wonderland with games, crafts & most importantly, a hot cocoa bar with sugar cookies:

Sadie actually missed school Friday because she had to have her 4th endoscopy early that morning:

So she got to come with me & help at the party that afternoon:

Fun fact, I actually started feeling bad earlier in the week, so I finally went to the doctor the day before. I was negative for flu, strep & covid but I did have a sinus infection. It has been a long week, I have felt awful & I lost my voice. I hadn't been able to talk since Tuesday, so I had to carry around this note at the party. Ha! People are used to me talking & I really couldn't say more than a whisper:

Last but not least, I have to give props to these ladies - most of us have been room moms since our kids were in kindergarten & I have enjoyed working with each & every one of them through the years:

To wrap up our holiday season, we celebrated with friends the weekend before Christmas at The Star:

We actually met them at Sidecar Social Saturday afternoon to watch the Longhorn game. We did watch the game, but you know we also had fun taking pictures & playing games:

We had to leave the game early to walk over to the Christmas tree lighting:

We go to the lighting every single year & it never gets old! The DCC are always fun to see perform & especially see their outfit changes, but of course Rowdy is there & Santa himself:

It was chilly outside but not too bad. It kind of felt perfect for the season:

Afterwards, we actually got to meet a few of the DCC girls:

After the tree lighting, we went back inside to finish the game so of course it was a Longhorn celebration! It was a fun way to kick off winter break and now we are excited to enjoy the holidays - we have a lot of baking, gingerbread houses to make, Christmas lights to see & holiday movies to watch. Merry Christmas everyone!
