Christmas Eve 2023

The girls got out of school on Thursday so we enjoyed a few lazy days leading up to Christmas Eve. I'm talking lots of baking, watching movies & laying around in our pajamas:

Our church had 4 Christmas Eve services but we chose to continue our lazy morning & went that afternoon. We actually went to the 3:00 service & then served as a family for the 5:00 service:

After church we headed to Nanny's house. Can you believe that she just turned 90 years old & still had 25 people over for dinner at her house? And she did most of the cooking! We didn't get a big group picture of everyone, but we did get one with Bryan and his brother with their cousins:

and our immediate family:

We were so blessed to have Bryan's brother, Tim & his family drive down from Colorado - we haven't had Christmas with them in years!

The girls were excited to give both of their great grandmothers their present because they made them both a snowman door hanger:

It was a late night with the Dodson family but eventually we headed home so the girls could feed the reindeer & get ready for bed. They got heatless curlers from Nanny for Christmas so they both tried them out when they went to sleep that night:

Of course they couldn't go to bed without leaving cookies & milk for Santa. But they went a step farther this year because Sophie wrapped a present for Santa also:

These girls were ready for Christmas morning!
