Shooting Stars - Winter 2019

This past weekend we wrapped up another season of basketball for Sadie:

This was a picture at the beginning of the season when we played our friend Lexi. Can you spot her in the middle? She has on a white jersey. She played with us last summer.

The team had a great season & won most of their games. Sadie improved also. I didn't take many pictures throughout the season but I happened to get pictures of her shooting free throws one game:

Earlier in the season, our middle school invited the girls to come scrimmage during half time of the 7th grade's basketball game. The girls were so excited! They did great & Sadie's team won 2-0 with her scoring the only basket, because they aren't used to playing on 10 foot goals:

Did I mention that the 1 basket scored was by Sadie?! She was so excited! The girls had so much fun & I hope they get invited back to do it again:

Fast forward to this past weekend where we had their last game of the winter season:

They won & it felt great to end on a high note. It was a late game so afterwards the team went out to eat to celebrate the season, have cupcakes & pass out medals:

A few of the girls even had thank you cards for Bryan:

What a great group of girls & families! This team has played for 3 seasons - winter, summer, winter - but they are having so much fun, they decided to stay together year round. We had already planned a busy spring with soccer for both of the girls, but since Bryan coaches, somehow they convinced us to stay around also. Looking forward to another basketball season but not looking forward to our busy schedules this spring!
