Last week the Rotary Club of Frisco hosted a basketball game for the Frisco Fanatics vs. the Harlem Wizards:
I didn't know who the Wizards were, but they are kind of like the Globetrotters. And the Frisco Fanatics is a team full of local Frisconians: The Mayor, City Council, FISD Board Trustees, Firemen, Police, etc. and somehow Bryan got asked to play:
They had a rather large team so they only played a few minutes each. But they got introduced at the beginning:
And they were coached by the legendary Del Harris:
The game was pretty entertaining. Not only were they good basketball players, but they kept playing tricks, funny games & included the audience in the jokes as well. I took lots of videos but only snapped a few pictures during the game. First up, Bryan on the sideline as he was called in:
He did get the ball several times but apparently the wizards kind of told the players what to do. Sadie had a birthday party that night so it was just Sophie & I cheering him on:
She wanted to sit on the very top row & to be honest, I am not sure if she was even watching the game or if she was just dancing to all the fun music:
Girl was getting down! You should see the videos I have of her :) Bryan said he could even see her dancing from the bench.
At halftime, they let everyone come on the court to buy souvenirs, get autographs, take pictures, etc. & Sophie loved it!
It was such a fun night & I hate that Sadie missed it. She would have loved it! Apparently, they must have raised a lot of money & the event was successful because they have already booked it again for next year. Guess we'll see if Bryan makes the team again:
