Spring Break in Conroe 2018

After Sadie finished soccer camp on Tuesday, we headed to Conroe. We didn't get on the road until later that afternoon/evening & apparently both of the girls were worn out because they fell asleep right away:

We didn't have plans the rest of the week so we thought it would be fun to get out of town for a few days. We slept in every day & had fun playing, visiting, eating all week. My parents took the girls to play putt putt & they spent time at the park while I went shopping:

They built a fort one day & they painted their nails:

The girls went to the movies while the guys golfed:

My mom even bought these amazing stuffed cupcakes to celebrate my birthday:

They were DELICIOUS!

But our big outing was to the Kemah Boarkwalk down by Galveston:

It was ridiculously crowded but the weather was nice. Kind of overcast but not hot or cold. Very enjoyable. The girls rode rides as soon as we got there. Unfortunately, Sadie was not tall enough for the big ones so she was kind of bummed, but they rode all of the children's rides together. They rode this one first & these pictures crack me up because you can tell Sadie was thrilled & Sophie wasn't so sure about being on there:

After this, she did fine & rode everything else. So proud of her! They loved the carousel because it was 2 story & they got to ride on the top:

Sophie met a new friend to ride the little ferris wheel with:

After she rode this she was confident enough to ride the big ferris wheel with Sadie & Daddy:

Our final ride of the night was the train & it took Bryan 1 hour & 20 minutes to get on it. I told you it was crowded :( but the girls loved all of the rides while we enjoyed watching them:

It was so crowded we only rode the rides once & then we spent time walking around & getting snacks. Sadie loved hula hooping:

The girls wanted Icee's:

Bryan wanted a funnel cake:

while I wanted ice cream:

Before we left, Bryan wanted the girls to get their portrait drawn. They had a hard time sitting still but eventually he finished:

To be honest, I am not particularly fond of these things but the girls were excited. Some of the paintings turned out pretty good & the person was recognizable. Not ours - I don't think you can even tell who it is!

We had a fun day & a fun week. It was nice to get out of town for a few days. Thanks mom & dad for letting us crash at your house & for spoiling the girls!
