Life Lately

On Wednesday we had a sneak peak into Bryan's life with his iPhone photo dump, but now it's time for my weekly update.

Last week at school, Sophie's class had Texas week & they were supposed to dress Texan. You know what that means at our house:

That means it's a good excuse to wear our Longhorn gear! At least Sophie had some cowgirl boots that fit :)

That same day, Sadie had spirit day:

She was beyond excited because they were having their annual field trip. She had never been on a field trip before but she knows what they are when see field trips at the zoo, park, etc. These girls couldn't wait to get to school:

All of the 5 year old classes got to walk to a park in downtown Frisco where they went on a scavenger hunt, played at the park & had a picnic. After school, Sadie made me drive the route that they took so she could show us :) Apparently they had a great time & Sadie talked about it all night. She was even more excited when her teacher sent me a few pictures:

Sunday afternoon we tried a new restaurant after church:

Don't let those smiles fool you because we chose a fast casual restaurant (where you order the food & then sit down) & it took 1 hour to get our food! No, I am not kidding. The food was good but I think we will wait a while before we go back. I don't think they could handle the church crowd yet. The kids meals even came with free custard but we had been so frustrated, we left. Luckily I took their coins with us so we went after swimming lessons this week when no one was there & let the girls get a treat. Looks like we will not be getting chocolate ice cream or cones next time:

Seriously, the pictures don't do it justice. Sophie had melted chocolate dripping all over her legs & her dress. I even found sprinkles in her hair:

We have had a lot of spring storms so we have been stuck inside a few times. The girls have gotten creative when we can't play outside & Bryan's out of town. First Sadie built a house:

She was a good neighbor & let Sophie come to visit inside her new house:

As you can see, when we are stuck in the house we have lots of outfit changes that usually consist of gymnastic leotards, princess dresses or pajamas:

At MOPS last week we made patriotic wreaths & I was pretty proud of the finished product. Sadie loved it so much she asked if she could take a picture of it:

In case you didn't know, I am not crafty!

And finally, things are finally starting to slow down around here. Ok, bad wording. Things are not slowing down, they are actually really busy in May, but I feel like everything is coming to an end before summer. We had our last group leader meeting for MOPS this week:

They treated us to a morning out at brunch & it was delicious! We have our last meeting this week & it is kind of bitter sweet thinking about it already.
