The girls & I are enjoying our last week of summer before their pre-school starts next week so when Lena asked if we wanted to take all of the kids to the zoo, we all jumped at the opportunity! I know once our fall schedule hits next week, we will be busier & won't have as much time to drive into Dallas. This was without a doubt one of our favorite trips to the Dallas zoo, even though we have been there several times. We usually go in the spring, when it's not at hot, but we always go when it's crowded because they do a lot of field trips at the end of the school year. Since school just started, the zoo was empty! Literally, I felt like we were the only people there, although, there were a lot of us:
Look at all those big kids! I realized that these will be some of our last big play dates with friends because this time next year all of the big kids will be in kindergarten :(
This group really gets along great & I don't know how we lucked out where all of the siblings are the same age. We hadn't really done an outing with this many before, but since we had the zoo to ourselves, it really wasn't that bad:
We saw a lot of animals up close in the morning because they were feeding most of them:
Even the littles had fun trying to keep up with the big kids:
It was a fun way to end summer & I am so thankful for this group of ladies & their sweet children:
