Wrapping Up Grand Cayman

Ok, so I have been literally blogging about our vacation to the Grand Cayman for a week now but what can I say - we had a great time! It was by far one of my favorite vacations (not including Disney!) because the girls are getting older so we are finally able to do more. Both of them can come on excursions with us, we can actually skip naps in the afternoon & stay up later at night. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed taking them when they were little & I hold special memories of those trips as well, but it sure does get fun the older they get!

I do take a lot of pictures & when I was going through my phone this weekend, I found a few more. And then I found some on Bryan's phone, so I couldn't go without posting them!

One thing I didn't really talk about was golf. Bryan always golfs every time we go. Our room had a beautiful view of the golf course overlooking the harbor, which feeds into the ocean:

Not that bad, huh? I should have taken a picture on a clear & sunny day, but this was actually the afternoon he was out golfing. He only took 2 pictures from the course:

The golf course was empty so it played it pretty quickly. It was only a 9 hole, so he played it twice. And yes, it did rain while he was out there. I am telling you, we had quick rain showers almost every afternoon. We actually saw roosters & iguanas the whole time we were there so I thought it was funny he found roosters on the golf course also!

I found 2 random pictures of the girls. The first one of Sophie is by the Ambassador's Club, which is the kid's area & the second one of Sadie was our last afternoon there. She wanted to feed the fish one more time:

The girls played a fun game while we were there. They gave the girls a brochure with different countries listed on it. Beside each country was their flag & a few facts about that country. Both of the girls had their game & we carried it everywhere we went all week around the resort & every time they met a new employee, they asked where they were from. By the end of the week, they had gotten 28 signatures! They turned in the brochure before we left & they gave the girls stuffed turtles to take home & remember the island. Such a fun way to meet new people & learn along the way:

The girls were very popular around the resort & made a lot of friends, both employees & guests. 2 of the employees really liked the girls & asked if they could take pictures with them before we left. First let me introduce Daisy:

We saw her every morning we left our room. She always waited for us in the hallway & she would sing & talk to the girls. When we left, she actually thanked me for making her job easy! She said she could tell I would clean before she got there & she wished everyone was as neat as I was. I know exactly what she means, so I will take the compliment!

Next, Shadae:

Since the girls ate free on the resort, we took them to the breakfast buffet every single morning. And every single morning Shadae was our hostess & knew exactly where to seat us outside on the patio. She loved the girls so much that she had going away presents for them on our last day. She gave them both a stuffed sting ray to go along with their turtle! So sweet :)

Don't worry, Bryan & I got souvenirs also:

Bryan is what I call a travel hoarder. He travels so much & he likes to steal all of the toiletries. I mean seriously, you should see the basket he has of this stuff underneath his sink at home! He found a drawer in our room, would stockpile his favorites every day so they would leave new ones.

As much as I tease him, I might have hoarded something else:

Swim diapers! They gave us a bag full when we got there & then they had baskets of them at the pool, so I snuck a few home.

On our way out of the room, we tried to get one last family picture from our trip, but it didn't turn out very well:

And then someone took one of us getting on the airplane:

I love it! What a perfect way to end a perfect vacation! This fall we have college football so most of our trips will be to see the Longhorns but our next family vacation is already planned for January. I am super excited about it (Bryan not as much) but we are going with 3 other families. That will definitely be a new journey!
