Starfish Cay

One of our favorite parts about this resort was Starfish Cay. It was a private waterpark for children & it was amazing! We usually go to the pool after we spend time at the beach, but this time we hit up the waterpark for the girls:

The whole waterpark was fenced & there were lifeguards watching the area so Bryan & I literally camped under an umbrella, had a few drinks & read while they played. Usually we have to keep our eye on them when they are in the water, but they were totally safe here & they loved it:

There were 4 waterslides & Sophie was kind of scared of the slides the first day so she mostly splashed around. By the end of the trip, she was an old pro:

Bryan & I jumped in & went with them a few times but mostly we were relaxing:

Children 5 & under eat & drink for free here (which is another reason we love it!) so if we didn't get lunch or snacks by the beach, then we would order the girls something when we got here:

But we were spoiled with snacks over here also. In fact, one day they surprised us & had a snow cone machine set up - my personal favorite:

They even had the cutest little picnic tables, chairs & umbrellas set up for the children:

Unfortunately, it wasn't that pretty & sunny every day. We had several little afternoon rain storms, but that didn't stop the girls from playing in the rain:

It was always in the afternoon & it was always pretty brief. Occasionally they made everyone get out of the water if we saw lightening or heard thunder & then we would have to wait 15 minutes, but honestly, it only helped keep the temperature down & the rain never really bothered us:

Our only complaint about Starfish Cay is that it closed at 4:00 every day. The girls were always so disappointed when it was time to leave, but then we would just walk to the pool next door. Bryan & I got in the water a lot with them at the pool so I don't have many pictures but I did get a good one of Sadie practicing her handstands:

They had a huge tanning ledge that went around the entire pool (& it was a big pool!) so Sophie loved it! By this time of day, some had already headed in to get ready for dinner so our afternoons at the pool were very relaxing:

It was the perfect way to end our day outside!
