Now that the holidays are officially over & the new year has begun, we have finally gotten back to normal. Bryan stopped working around Friday, December 13 & has been home full time since then but he officially went back to work today. Granted, he does work from home most of the time, but today was the first day he had to get up & go into his office all day while I take care of both of the girls. And try to keep them quiet so he can work on the computer & talk on the phone in peace :)
I actually had my first practice on Saturday. Bryan went to a football game with a friend & I had both of the girls by myself for about 6 hours. Bryan was worried about me & wanted to have someone come over to help me, but I kept reminding him that I had to give it a go sometime! Luckily Saturday went better than I could have imagined & I got both of the girls to nap at the same time, so I actually got 2 loads of laundry done & a lot of work done on the computer. I don't know if every day will be that good, but I'll take it when I get it!
Unfortunately, Sophie was a little firecracker last night & we didn't have the best night (like we have had for the past week) so poor Bryan started his work day tired while the girls & I tried to get back to normal. Sadie had a 2 week hiatus from swimming lessons & preschool, but everything starts back up this week - woo hoo! For Sadie & for Mom! I took her to swimming lessons today & she loved being back in the water, even if it was 23 degrees outside:
And I am starting to have more playtime with Sophie since she is more alert during the day:
And I even got both of them to go down for naps again at the same time this afternoon. Hopefully I can keep them quiet the rest of the afternoon/early evening until Bryan finishes work. The good news is that technically he is around the corner if I really need him, but I try my best not to bother him. As much as we loved sleeping in every day & spending lots of time around the house with Dad, I guess it's nice to get back on a schedule again too. And get out of the house a little more :)
